PORT ANGELES — A Port Angeles man who is awaiting trial for cocaine trafficking and organized crime was charged Thursday in Clallam County Superior Court for allegedly paying an acquaintance to a burn down the house of a man he believed had betrayed him to investigators.
Bernard Gilbert “Pete” Barnes III, 52, was also charged with delivery of cocaine.
Sheriff’s Department investigators arrested Barnes last Friday on the two cases.
Barnes remains free on $100,000 bail, but his travel is restricted to the county and an 8 p.m. curfew was imposed.
