Behavioral health grant to help broaden services

Coordinated Care gives $25,000 for services at Clallam County center

PORT ANGELES — Peninsula Behavioral Health has received a $25,000 grant to broaden its reach in providing services.

The Community Giving Award from Coordinated Care, a managed care organization based in Tacoma that provides healthcare services to more than 200,000 members across the state, was announced Wednesday.

“Peninsula Behavioral Health is truly appreciative of this generous donation from Coordinated Care to help us close the gaps in providing the highest quality behavioral healthcare to our community,” said Wendy Sisk, CEO of Peninsula Behavioral Health.

The support from Coordinated Care will help Peninsula Behavioral Health provide behavioral health care to individuals who otherwise would go without, according to a press release.

“Coordinated Care believes in providing an accessible, whole-person approach to healthcare,” said Beth Johnson, president and CEO at Coordinated Care.

“Peninsula Behavioral Health makes behavioral healthcare available to adults and children in the Clallam community with evidence-based practices and patient-centered care,” she added.

“We are pleased to support their team of healthcare professionals providing valuable services to Washingtonians.”

A 65-foot-long historic tug rests in the Port of Port Townsend Boat Haven Marina’s 300-ton marine lift as workers use pressure washers to blast years of barnacles and other marine life off the hull. The tug was built for the U.S. Army at Peterson SB in Tacoma in 1944. Originally designated TP-133, it is currently named Island Champion after going through several owners since the army sold it in 1947. It is now owned by Debbie Wright of Everett, who uses it as a liveaboard.
