PORT HADLOCK — A 65-year-old Bellevue man is dead after a single-car wreck on state Highway 104, about 8 miles south of Port Hadlock, according to the State Patrol.
Steven M. Allen, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from his vehicle during the Saturday night wreck, said Trooper Russ Winger.
“He wasn’t wearing his seat belt, which was the most critical issue,” he said. “That is the one thing people need to be aware of: wear your belts.”
Allen was driving eastbound at mile post 5.4 when he veered north, crossed the westbound lane and drove into a ditch. Troopers responded to the scene at 9:54 p.m. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
It wasn’t yet clear Sunday why Allen lost control of his vehicle, Winger said, adding that it’s still under investigation.
