PORT TOWNSEND — A Silverdale woman was taken into custody for investigation of DUI and vehicular assault after a Poulsbo bicyclist was hurt on state Highway 19.
Stella H. Cole, 52, was taken to St. Michael Medical Center in Silverdale after the 2:08 p.m. Tuesday collision, the State Patrol said.
Cole was riding a bicycle southbound on the shoulder of state Highway 19 just south of milepost 1 when Brooke L. Phillips, 23, veered over the fog line and the passenger side mirror of her car hit Cole.
Cole’s condition was not available on Wednesday.
The cause of the collision was Phillips driving under intoxication, according to the State Patrol.
Phillips was not hurt, the State Patrol said.
