The Sequim bicyclist airlifted to Providence Medical Center in Everett Thursday afternoon after colliding with a truck on Old Olympic Highway is no longer a patient at the hospital, according to spokeswoman Casey Calamusa.
Alexander L. Olson, 35, of Sequim was riding his bicycle on U.S. Highway 101 near milepost 255 last Thursday when he turned left onto Old Olympic Highway in front of a truck, according to Washington State Patrol spokeswoman Katherine Weatherwax.
The truck was a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 driven by Donald B. Shaw, 53, of Kenewick.
Weatherwax said the truck was traveling about 20 to 30 miles per hour. The only damage to the truck was the driver’s side mirror. The damage to the bicycle was extensive.
