Big auction Wednesday in Port Angeles

PORT ANGELES — More than $15,000 worth of merchandise will be up for bid at the Port Angeles Chamber of Commerce’s annual fund-raising auction on Wednesday.

Items include:

* “Fisherman’s Dream” getaway to Southeast Alaska aboard a floating lodge for four days and three nights of fishing and fun.

* Behind-the-scenes tour for four of the Port Angeles Coast Guard base, a ride along on a harbor cruise security detail — and a ride-along in a Puget Sound Pilot boat when it meets one of the huge ships off Ediz Hook.

* Four tickets to watch a Mariner game from a private suite, with overnight lodging at the Red Lion Hotel on Fifth Avenue in Seattle.

* 1991 Ford Passenger Conversion Van provided by Port Angeles Ford Lincoln Mercury.

Other auction items include a San Juan Island getaway arranged by Victoria Express; “instant wine cellar” from local wineries; rocker and quilt set; scenic flight over Port Angeles; hand-crafted garden bench; gardening supplies, tools, fishing equipment and concert and theater tickets.

Wednesday’s auction runs from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Angeles Therapy Services, 1114 Georgiana St.

Cost is $5 at the door.

The auction will be divided between silent-bid items, which will get started at 5:30, and a live auction that kicks into gear at 7 p.m.

The auction is being combined with the chamber’s monthly after-hours business mixer.

Angeles Therapy will give tours of its physical therapy facilities, food will be provided by Bella Italia restaurant and there will be wines from Olympic Cellars.

Items that will be auctioned are listed on chamber’s Web site, www.portangeles.org.
