PORT TOWNSEND — Almost two years after it was seized in the Strait of Juan de Fuca with 5,538 pounds of cocaine aboard, the fishing trawler Western Wind has been sold at auction.
Richard Malinski of Los Angeles was the top bidder at $35,000 for the 69-foot trawler during a Jan. 30 auction conducted in Los Angeles, EG&G Technical Services spokeswoman Britney Bartlett said Thursday.
