Freshman state legislator Steve Tharinger will not seek a fourth term as a Clallam County commissioner, he said today.
The Sequim Democrat has participated in county commission meetings by speaker phone from Olympia, where he represents the 24th District, which includes Clallam and Jefferson counties and part of Grays Harbor County, in the state House of Representatives.
His decision not to run again for the county post “has been particularly difficult because it is never easy to leave a good team,” Tharinger said in an email.
“But I am very much looking forward to continuing to serve the Peninsula in the capacity of state representative.”
