State officials have ended a traffic alert for U.S. Highway 101 at the junction with state Highway 112 — known locally as Lairds Corner — that was issued earlier because of a motorcycle crash in which the motorcyclist was killed.
The Department of Transportation at 6 p.m. said that Highway 101 at the junction about five miles west of Port Angeles now has two-way traffic moving normally.
The identity of the motorcyclist has not been made public by the State Patrol.
PDN photojournalist Chris Tucker, who was at the scene, said a man and woman in a Toyota pickup truck involved in the collision with the motorcycle were taken to Olympic Medical Center.
