A work crew places upright posts on the Eighth Street bridge over Valley Creek in Port Angeles on Wednesday as part of a project to replace 4-foot, 6-inch railings on the span. The $770,000 contract to Interwest Construction, Inc. of Sequim calls for the installation of 8-foot, 9-inch suicide-barrier fences on bridges over Valley Creek and Tumwater Creek. Lane restrictions and detours are planned through the project, scheduled to be completed in early September.
