BRINNON — The Boy Scouts of America Chief Seattle Council can harvest timber at a camp on Pulali Point north of Brinnon, a state board ruled Tuesday.
Boy Scouts officials are now trying to determine if the thinning operation at Camp Parsons can begin this fall, Council Executive Brad Farmer said Wednesday from Seattle.
“Now that the appeal for a stay has been denied, we’re going to evaluate the weather and other circumstances to determine whether it’s appropriate to move forward,” he said. “We want to do the right thing and we want to make sure that the conditions are appropriate.”
Members of a group calling itself the Pulali Landowners Association are seeking Gov. Gary Locke’s help in stopping the logging.
