Brinnon Fire District No. 4 appears headed toward getting the property tax levy it needs to fund emergency medical services.
And the incumbents in two Port of Port Townsend commissioner races are headed to the November general election with one challenger each.

For port commissioner in district No. 2, incumbent Dave Thompson, who received 933 votes or 48.42 percent, will face either David Whipple or Bob Schuessler in November.
Whipple and Schuessler were separated by only two votes in tonight’s tallying. Whipple had 498 votes for 25.84 percent; Schuessler garnered 496 votes, or 25.74 percent.
In port district No. 3, veteran Commissioner Herb Beck received 1,575 votes, or 65.57 percent.
If tonight’s rankings hold, Beck will face Leif Erickson, who received 447 votes, or 18.61 percent. But Douglas Breithaupt wasn’t far behind Erickson with 380 votes for 15.82 percent of ballots cast.
