BRINNON — Jefferson County commissioners on Monday approved a revamped version of the Brinnon Sub Area Plan after a public hearing during which only two people spoke.
Approval of the plan, which has been the subject of controversy in the southern Jefferson town for nearly 20 years, can still be appealed.
“We don’t need to continue studying this,” said George Stickel, a member of the group that helped to compile the plan.
Stickel said the plan, which sets land-use standards for the community, has surfaced three times since 1985.
The plan approved Monday grew out of a document that was adopted in December 2002 but later was successfully appealed to the Western Washington Growth Management Hearings Board.
