BRINNON — Residents of south Jefferson County will get a chance to take college courses from distant campuses after a state-of-the-art learning center opens at Brinnon School this month.
A dedication ceremony for the facility, which will feature 16 work stations, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22, at Brinnon School, 46 Schoolhouse Road.
“We are really excited and have been working for some time on this,” said Gay Corey, resource coordinator for the Brinnon School District. “This is a great training opportunity for people wanting to continue their education.”
The project is being provided by a state grant and is part of the Higher Education Demonstration Project.
The Brinnon School Board also worked closely with officials from the Jefferson Education Center to establish the center.
