BRINNON — Junk vehicles, the Hood Canal Bridge closure, traffic and a proposed new visitors center were topics that received attention Thursday night as Jefferson County commissioners went to Brinnon to meet.
Commissioners applauded the 40-plus people who showed up at the Brinnon Community Center, saying it was the largest showing yet for their “On The Road” visits around the county.
Members of the audience were eager to explain why their turnout was the largest.
“We’re the most neglected,” said one resident.
“We’re going to give you the most hell,” added another — drawing laughter from others in the audience as well as the three commissioners, including Brinnon resident Pat Rodgers.
Commissioner Glen Huntingford, R-Chimacum, said the addition of a code enforcement officer in the Sheriff’s Office is helping to make progress on the problem of junk cars on private property.
