Government meetings across North Olympic Peninsula

The boards of local government agencies will meet next week on the North Olympic Peninsula.

Jefferson County

The three Jefferson County commissioners will conduct a public hearing regarding the mid-biennium review and modification when they meet at 9 a.m. Monday.

The hybrid meeting is at the commissioners chambers in the Jefferson County Courthouse, 1820 Jefferson Street, Port Townsend.

The commissioners also will hear a presentation on the Give Jefferson 2022 campaign from Sarah Melancon and Siobhan Canty.

Items on the consent agenda include a notice of a public hearing at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 19, regarding fourth quarter budget appropriations; a joint resolution for collaboration with the city of Port Townsend, the Port of Port Townsend and Jefferson County Public Utility District; an agreement with Jefferson County Parks and Recreation for $50,000 in lodging tax funding; an agreement with Lahren Associates for $10,260 for a cultural resources assessment for the Anderson Lake portion of the Olympic Discovery Trail; and an agreement with the Seattle Aquarium for $24,800 for kelp survey research.

Clallam County

The three Clallam County commissioners will conduct public hearings regarding the 2023 budget and several budget resolutions during their weekly business meeting at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

The commissioners’ work session, at 9 a.m. Monday, will preview items set for action at their formal Tuesday meeting.

The hybrid meetings are in the county commissioners meeting room in the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles.

• A resolution appointing Joseph E. Donisi as the county engineer.

• An agreement with Inventech Marine Solutions, LLC for $191,552.92 for a new aluminium patrol boat for the sheriff’s office.

• An individual assistance grant agreement with the state Military Department for $156,650 for eligible county residents who suffer losses due to extreme weather or other natural disasters during 2022 or 2023.

• A presentation on the county’s noxious weed control board program for 2022.

• An update on the lower Dungeness floodplain restoration project, currently $568,000 over budget.

• A resolution certifying taxing district levy budgets for the county assessor.

• An agreement with the Parks and Recreation Commission for $13,186.68 in funding for overtime costs for the sheriff’s office marine units boating safety patrols.

Jefferson PUD

Jefferson County Public Utility District commissioners will conduct a special two-day working meeting at 10 a.m. Tuesday and Wednesday.
