Singaporeans will munch on scorpion scaloppini and crunch on grasshopper kabobs and crickets in orzo pasta next month.
And they’ll have a Port Townsend man to toast.
David George Gordon — a trained biologist who is the author of The Eat-a-Bug Cookbook and 11 other books — will serve up those delectable dishes April 4-6 at the Singapore Food Festival.
“I’ve always been interested in nature,” said Gordon. “Almost all insects are high in protein.”
The Singapore Food Festival, now in its 10th year, attracted about 650,000 people last year.
Festival organizers contacted Gordon last October and invited him to the festival. They’re taking care of all his expenses and promoting his presence.
Already, the Singapore Straits Times has featured Gordon in an article.
He’s also singled out on the festival’s Web site.
