PORT TOWNSEND — An informal meeting about the new idea of parklets and how they can help create a connection to local historic districts, bring business and add liveliness to the streetscape will be held at The Palace Hotel, 1004 Water St., in the lobby.
The meeting starts at 9 a.m. Thursday.
The event is hosted by the Port Townsend Main Street Program Design Committee.
Samantha Thomas will present.
Thomas works at Blue Zones, traveling across the U.S. helping cities of all sizes become more people-oriented by creating streets as places and thus improving the walkability, livability and overall health of a community.
She is a member of the Port Townsend Main Street Program board of directors and is a design committee member.
All are welcome.
