PORT ANGELES — A library summer program will involve a scavenger hunt at Albertsons grocery store.
The hunt “turns an ordinary shopping trip into an interactive learning experience for parents, caregivers and young children,” according to the North Olympic Library System, which oversees public libraries in Port Angeles, Sequim, Forks and Clallam Bay.
Scavenger hunt game sheets are available at the youth services desk at the Port Angeles Library at 2210 S. Peabody St. and at the customer service desk at Albertsons, 114 E. Lauridsen Blvd.
The hunt will be on throughout the year.
The program is in partnership with Albertsons and the Olympic-Kitsap Peninsulas Early Learning Coalition.
The library system’s efforts to support early literacy programming in Clallam County is sponsored by Thrive by Five Washington, the state’s nonprofit public-private partnership for early learning; the state Department of Early Learning; and the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction, along with others.
