PORT ANGELES — Attorneys Deborah Nelson and Jeffrey Boyd are 2014 “Washington Super Lawyers.”
They join about 5 percent of the lawyers in the state given that title after evaluations by a research team at Super Lawyers, a service of the Thomson Reuters Legal Division in Eagan, Minn.
The selection process includes a statewide survey of lawyers, evaluation of candidates by the
attorney-led research staff, a peer review of candidates by practice area, and a good-standing
and disciplinary check.
In 2003, Nelson, a Sequim resident, was the first lawyer on the North Olympic Peninsula to receive the “super lawyer” title.
She has repeated every year since 2003.
She is a past president of the Washington State Trial Lawyers Association (now the Washington State Association for Justice) and a past president of the Council of Presidents of the American Association for Justice.
She is a speaker and author on insurance coverage.
Boyd, her partner in the law firm of Nelson Boyd, is a member of the board of governors of the Washington State Association for Justice. He is licensed to practice law in both Ohio and Washington.
He also is a national trial consultant and owner of Boyd Trial Consulting. He has been named a Super Lawyer every year since 2012.
Boyd and Nelson have offices in Port Angeles and Seattle.
