BRINNON — Volunteers for Brinnon’s annual Hood Canal Shrimpfest, set for Memorial Day Weekend, have been asked to choose what jobs they would like to perform at the two-day festival.
The next meeting of Shrimpfest organizers will be at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the library at Brinnon School, 46 Schoolhouse Road.
Brinnon Parks and Recreation board Chair Belinda Graham has said the group plans to sell some 1,200 pounds of frozen shrimp at the May 25-26 event between the Yelvik General Store and the Cove RV Park at 251 Hjelvicks Road in Brinnon.
Volunteers are needed to set up, take down and man gates, as well as do festival maintenance, organizers said.
On May 23, volunteers will set up tents and place picnic tables and fencing.
On May 24, they will place the slide, boat, kitchen, ATM, belt sander, straw bales and trash cans.
The tear-down will be May 27.
Volunteers will meet at Yelvick’s field at 9 a.m. each day.
Volunteers are asked to contact Pam Barnet at pbarnet@brinnonpark sandrec.org.
Shrimpfest is back after a one-year hiatus. It was canceled for 2018 partially because of a limited pool of volunteers.
