BRINNON — A Ladysmith, B.C., passenger was injured Friday afternoon, the State Patrol said, when a sport utility vehicle rolled after leaving the roadway on U.S. Highway 101 south of Brinnon.
Clifford G. Hickey, 72, was taken to Jefferson Healthcare hospital in Port Townsend, according to a State Patrol memo.
A hospital nursing supervisor said Saturday she “had no record” of Clifford Hickey being at the hospital.
The State Patrol said the driver, Alta Lynn Hickey, 68, also of Ladysmith, fell asleep at the wheel.
The Toyota Rav4 SUV was traveling south along Highway 101 about 6 miles south of Brinnon at about 2:40 p.m. when it left the road to the right, entered a ditch and rolled before coming to rest on its passenger side, the State Patrol said.
Alta Hickey was not injured, the State Patrol said, adding that it expected to cite her for second-degree negligent driving.
