SEQUIM — Four candidates running for two offices in November’s general election had a chance to pitch their views — and try to set themselves apart from their opponents — at a public forum Thursday afternoon.
The debate-style forum, hosted by the Clallam County League of Women Voters, drew 75 people to the Guy Cole Convention Center in Sequim’s Carrie Blake Park.
Candidates for Clallam County sheriff, incumbent Joe Martin and Soeren Poulsen, and for the state Legislature’s 24th District House seat, incumbent Rep. Jim Buck, R-Joyce, and his Democratic challenger, Kevin Van De Wege, first delivered prepared statements and then responded to a handful of questions posed by audience members.
