Captain Joseph House fundraiser Saturday

PORT ANGELES — A few tickets are still available for the Captain Joseph House Foundation’s 7th annual Dinner and Live Auction, which is planned at 4 p.m. Saturday.

“Candlelight and Champagne” will be at the Cedars at Dungeness, 1965 Woodcock Road, Sequim.

Tickets are $85 per person, except for active military or veterans, who pay $75 per person.

A guest table of eight is $1,000.

The Captain Joseph House at 1108 S. Oak St., is being converted from a 4,052-square-foot bed and breakfast to a respite for families of those who have died in combat since 2011.

Betsy Reed Schultz began the project to create the nation’s first Gold Star family retreat after her son, Army Special Operations Capt. Joseph Schultz, 36, was killed May 29, 2011, in Afghanistan.

To buy tickets to the dinner and auction, phone Schultz 360-460-7848.
