PYSHT — An Ocean Park man was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle after the vehicle he was driving struck a tree on state Highway 112 east of Pysht, according to a State Patrol incident memo.
A 2003 Ford Focus driven by Randall C. Voss, 59, of Ocean Park was traveling westbound on Highway 112 about 5 p.m. Wednesday when it crossed the centerline, went off the roadway on the eastbound shoulder and struck a tree, the State Patrol said.
Voss was airlifted to Harborview, where spokeswoman Barbara Clements wrote in a Thursday morning email that Voss still was being evaluated in the emergency room and may be discharged.
Voss’ passenger, Douglas J. Murray, 55, of Sequim, was taken to Forks Community Hospital.
The vehicle was totally destroyed.
Both Voss and Murray were wearing seatbelts. The cause remains under investigation, but drugs or alcohol were not involved, the State Patrol said.
