PORT ANGELES — A Port Angeles woman was hurt when the car she was riding in struck a deer on U.S. Highway 101 near Shore Road.
Wanda K. Hall, 60, of Port Angeles was taken to Olympic Medical Center after the one-car wreck at 5:40 p.m. Monday. She was treated and discharged.
The car driven by Richard M. Derrick, 55, of Port Angeles was traveling westbound when it hit the deer, which was standing in the roadway, the State Patrol said.
Derrick was not injured.
The car was driven from the scene of the crash.
Neither drugs nor alcohol were involved in the collision, the State Patrol said.
Both were wearing their seat belts.
