PORT TOWNSEND – Centrum artists residences, once an embarrassment to the arts and creative education organization, are today a matter of pride, said Kendra Golden, Centrum’s director of development.
The change is because of more than 200 volunteers who have put in hard work to renovate the interiors of nine units at Fort Worden State Park.
“This is the final phase of what was started in 2005,” said Golden.
Agents and staff of Windermere Port Townsend Agents of Good Roots were working feverishly on Tuesday to finish up the final unit in warm colors and furniture.
Some of the units will be opened to the public for viewing during a Centrum celebration of the project’s end at 4:30 p.m. Thursday.
The units are adjacent to Fort Worden’s youth hostel, north of the park headquarters.
