PORT ANGELES — A 30-year-old Sequim man was arrested and charged this month with three counts of delivery of a controlled substance for allegedly selling $1,330 worth of heroin to the Olympic Peninsula Narcotics Enforcement Team in January.
Derek A. Batton was charged Monday in Clallam County Superior Court.
Authorities said Batton sold a total of 6 grams of heroin in three transactions at his travel-trailer at 169 W. Spruce St. on Jan. 15, 17 and 22.
The charges were enhanced because the alleged sales occurred within 1,000 feet of a school zone, court papers said.
Batton is being held in the Clallam County jail on $5,000 bail.
Meanwhile, Rebecca J. Erwick, 21, of Port Angeles was sentenced to two years’ probation April 2 after pleading guilty to selling heroin last December, OPNET supervisor Jason Viada said.
Katherine M. Mercer, 33, and Travis D. McDaniel, 35, both of Carlsborg, were arrested Wednesday in Jefferson County on Clallam County warrants related to heroin sales in the Carlsborg area, Viada said.
