PORT TOWNSEND — Chimacum High School band teacher David Ralph Jones pleaded innocent Friday to first-degree theft for allegedly stealing $4,000 raised by band students for a trip to Italy next spring.
Superior Court Judge Thomas Majhan amended his conditions of release to allow the 46-year-old Jones to travel anywhere in Western Washington, but kept in place a $5,000 cash bail.
Jones posted the bail Aug. 31, two days after his arrest for first-degree theft.
Majhan set trial for Nov. 26 and Nov. 27.
Jones faces a maximum five years in jail and a $10,000 fine if convicted.
