CHIMACUM — The first of two schools superintendent candidates, Tom Opstad, will be in town today to get to know the community — and vice versa.
Opstad, assistant superintendent of the Lynden School District, is one of two finalists selected by school board members Saturday.
Mike Blair, superintendent of the Kettle Falls School District, will meet with school officials and area citizens on Wednesday.
Both men were chosen from 20 applicants to fill the position being vacated by Mary Lynne Derrington, who will become superintendent of Blaine schools.
