PORT ANGELES — Work crews from the Port Angeles Public Works and Utilities Department will begin chip sealing on Eighth Street today at 7 a.m.
Work will be conducted from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. through Saturday.
This work, originally scheduled for earlier in the month, was rescheduled due to adverse weather conditions, according to a press release on the city’s website.
Chip seal road work includes the application of liquid asphalt and chipped road rock to seal the road’s surface and extend its lifespan.
The repair work will begin at the Eighth Street bridge and proceed west to I Street before turning south and continuing to 16th Street.
Permanent striping will be performed after a curing period and is expected to require one or two days in mid-September to complete, city officials said.
