PORT ANGELES — Civic Field in Port Angeles will be getting an upgrade in the spring.
The city council unanimously approved the replacement of the scoreboard with a state-of-the-art videoboard, according to a city memo. The current scoreboard is more than 30 years old.
The project, approved Tuesday night, was contracted with Nevco Sports LLC, which will supply the videoboard and manage the installation of the project through local contractors, the memo stated.
The project is estimated to be completed by April 2025.
The new videoboard was funded through a $582,000 state commerce grant and a $120,000 city lodging tax grant. The combined $702,000 should cover the cost and installation of the $695,653 videoboard.
This videoboard will be used by the Port Angeles Lefties, the Port Angeles School District, Wilder Baseball and other groups who use the facilities.
