SEQUIM — Frank Pickering took 60 percent of the vote in a contest for a position on the Sequim Aquatic Recreation Center commission in the first count of general election votes on Tuesday.
Pickering, 67, had 3,052 votes, to Adam Sullivan’s 2,034 votes, or 40 percent.
Pickering, a retired company president, was appointed to Position 2 of the SARC board in the spring.
Sullivan did not return calls for requests for information.
The position is a four-year term with no compensation. The SARC budget is $1.1 million in 2013.
