The final results of the Nov. 8 general election are getting closer.
Assessor’s Office employees are slated to count 5,678 mail-in ballots today that were received Nov. 9, 10 and 11.
After that count, Clallam County’s total will hit 29,335 out of 43,916 ballots mailed in mid-October for a 66.8 percent turnout.
Most races in Clallam County have been decided. However, the final count could affect races between Port Angeles City Council candidates Larry Williams and Cherie Kidd (2,684-2,561), Port Angeles School Board candidates Patti Happe and Lynn Geren (4,187-3,799) and the Fire Protection District No. 4 race between Cindy Bryant and Donna Kay Buck (333-300).
