PORT ANGELES — More than 27 percent of the registered voters in Clallam County have cast their ballots in the Tuesday primary election, county Auditor Patty Rosand said.
Of the 44,119 ballots mailed to voters, 12,134 — 27.50 percent — had been returned as of the close of courthouse business on Thursday.
Voters have until 8 p.m. Tuesday to have their ballots postmarked or hand-deliver them.
Ballots may be placed in a ballot box inside or outside the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., at Sequim Vehicle/Vessel Licensing, 101 E. Washington St., or District Court in Forks City Hall, 500 E. Division St.
Voters who have not received ballots should phone Rosand’s office, 360-417-2221, to update their address information and receive ballots.
Replacement ballots can be issued up to Election Day.
In Jefferson County, nearly 35 percent of registered voters had returned ballots by Thursday.
Of the 21,284 ballots issued, 7,423 — or 34.9 percent — had been returned.
