Emergency crews worked for about two hours Tuesday afternoon to rescue a young woman from her car after it struck two trees along state Highway 112 near Clallam Bay.
Elizabeth J. Wilbur, 18, was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where she was reported in critical condition Tuesday night.
Wilbur was driving east on Highway 112 at milepost 21, about five miles east of Clallam Bay, when her 1990 two-door Honda Accord left the road, struck a tree on the passenger side, pivoted and struck another tree on the driver’s side, the Washington State Patrol reported.
A helicopter airlifted Wilbur from Sekiu Airport to Harborview.
