Businessman Tim Fraser says he is throwing his hat in the ring for Port of Port Angeles commissioner.
So far he is the only announced candidate for the six-year District 1 position, which represents the east end of Clallam County.
The incumbent, Jack Waud of Sequim, announced earlier this week that he will not seek re-election to a second term.
“I think six years is enough,” said Waud, citing “personal and family reasons” for not seeking re-election.
Waud’s seat is the only Port commission position up for election this year.
Candidates can file in person for city and county offices beginning Monday; filing closes on Friday., July 27.
