PORT ANGELES — A Canadian singer-songwriter will heat up this summer’s Clallam County Fair.
Country artist Carolyn Dawn Johnson, who recently went Canadian gold with her debut album “Room With a View,” will headline two shows at the fair’s grandstand Aug. 16.
Clallam County commissioners on Tuesday approved a $13,000 contract for Johnson to perform at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. at the Clallam County fairgrounds on West 16th Street.
“Most of the people I’ve talked to are really excited,” Fair Manager Sandy Bailey said Tuesday. “The younger crowd certainly knows (Johnson).”
The Alberta-born vocalist is drawing acclaim for her debut album and singles “Complicated” and “Georgia,” which topped Canadian music charts last year.
