CARLSBORG — Two years ago, a proposal to expand a Kitchen-Dick Road church retreat and youth camp was rejected by the Clallam County hearings examiner.
Now, neighbors of the facility who were upset with the 2001 plan are expected to go before the hearings examiner today once more to protest the proposal’s return.
King’s Way Foursquare Church officials have applied for a conditional use permit to develop a retreat center and youth camp on 16.4 acres on Kitchen-Dick Road, south of Old Olympic Highway.
The proposal would be an expansion of the existing facility that includes a church, dormitory, classroom and two houses.
Representatives of the church, 1023-A Kitchen-Dick Road, will go before the hearings examiner at 1 p.m. in Room 160 at the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St. in Port Angeles.
