Clallam: Company, not driver, cited in truck crash

The State Patrol is citing the company that owns the 1965 Kenworth, not the driver of the truck, that crashed on state Highway 113 on Friday, the State Patrol said on Wednesday.

The company, Politte Bros Inc. of Forks, is being cited for an equipment violation involving the steering component of the vehicle, said State Patrol spokesman Brian George on Wednesday.

George was correcting a report released on Tuesday that the driver, Gary W. McGoff, had been cited.

George said Wednesday that the citation “probably hasn”t got to the company yet.”

McGoff, 52, of Port Angeles, suffered a fractured sternum, said his wife, Linda McGoff.
