PORT ANGELES — Election outcomes remained the same as on Tuesday after the Clallam County Auditor’s Office tabulated 2,447 late-arriving ballots today.
The next count will be when the election is certified Feb. 24.
The ballots tabulated today include 1,352 that arrived Wednesday, 1,069 from Thursday and 26 more that arrived today.
All told, the Auditor’s Office has received 23,577 ballots out of 45,005 mailed to registered voters for a total turnout of 52.4 percent.
Voters in the Port Angeles School District approved a two-year maintenance and operations levy with 63.7 percent voting yes as of today, up from 62.4 percent who favored the proposition in the first ballot count Tuesday.
Today’s tally was 6,129 ballots approving the measure to 3,488 opposing it.
A proposed construction bond to replace Port Angeles High School had 49.6 percent support as of today.
It needed a 60 percent supermajority to pass, and did not even get a majority. The tally was 4,761 votes in favor and 4,836, or 50.4, opposed.
An attempt to pass a school construction bond in Sequim also fell short of the 60 percent benchmark.
District-wide, the tally was 7,358 votes, or 57.5 percent, in favor, to 5,438 votes, or 42.5 percent
.
Of the 12,643 Clallam County voters who cast a ballot in the Sequim bond election, 57.5 percent voted yes with 7,275 votes. Opposed were 5,368 voters, or 42.5 percent.
In Jefferson County, 54.3 percent, or 83 votes, of 153 Jefferson County voters in the Sequim School District favored the bond. Opposed were 70 votes, or 45.8 percent.
A six-year property tax levy for the Sequim Aquatic Recreation Center received 57.5 percent support — 7,258 votes — but needed 60 percent to pass. Opposed were 5,368, or 42.5 percent.
In Forks, a six-year emergency medical care and services levy passed overwhelmingly with 66.8 percent voting yes as of Friday.
The tally was 835 votes in favor and 415 votes, or 33.2 percent, opposed.
