Clallam County has acquired the final privately owned right of way link needed to complete Olympic Discovery Trail from Port Angeles to Sequim.
Rich James, county senior planner involved in right of way acquisition and trail planning, informed county commissioners this week that a three-acre parcel extending across McDonald Creek was acquired from Dani LaBlonde for $48,000.
James said trail work on the section between Spring and Vautier roads could begin by late summer.
The acquisition, like most of the trail’s nearly 30 miles of rights of way acquired and developed so far, is primarily funded by federal transportation dollars.
