PORT ANGELES — The Clallam County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office has launched a new website where citizens can submit public records requests, inquire about a case or raise concerns about law and justice issues.
The site, www.clallam.net/prosecutor, has links to news releases, radio interviews and information about the various functions of the office.
Promote transparency
“The site has been designed to promote greater transparency with regard to the operation of the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, the criminal justice system and all manner of law- and justice-related issues,” Clallam County Prosecuting Attorney Mark Nichols said in a Thursday announcement.
“I am particularly grateful to [systems analyst] Dean Anderson of the county’s IT [Information Technology] Department for his technical support in developing the site as well as the team of employees within the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office who contributed to the completion of this project over the last several months.”
Nichols will publish occasional “prosecutor posts” to discuss law and justice themes.
He also will provide an events calendar for his meetings with community groups.
The website has an email form and lists phone numbers for felony, district court, juvenile court, civil and family support divisions.
As the elected prosecuting attorney, Nichols also serves as the county’s ex officio coroner under the home-rule charter.
“This has been a real team effort and one that we are confident will provide an invaluable service to the community,” Nichols said in announcing the website.
“Please check back often, as we will continue to develop the site in the months to come.”
