SEQUIM — County engineers will study traffic counts and speeds on East Anderson Road, west of the Old Dungeness Schoolhouse, to see if changes are necessary.
The study should take about two months.
The study was requested by Clallam County Commissioner Steve Tharinger, D-Sequim, during recent discussions on 12 speed limit change petitions.
Tharinger said he doesn’t want to conduct such speed limit reviews more often than the current once a year, but that this is a special case.
The road is a tourist route and the increasing congestion and foot traffic at the bridge makes it a safety issue, Tharinger said.
