Clallam County United Way reaches halfway point in fundraising campaign

PORT ANGELES — The United Way of Clallam County has reached the halfway point in its 2016 fundraising campaign.

“So far, more than $419,000 has come in from individuals, businesses and special events,” said Sara Dutrow, campaign chairwoman.

“We’re extremely pleased at the results so far but want to make sure donors know there is still time to make a year-end gift and help us reach our goal of $800,000,” she said.

The fundraising campaign ends March 31.

“Donations to United Way are invested into the community via our 24 partner agencies, whose work focuses on education, financial stability and health,” said Christy Smith, resource development manager of United Way of Clallam County.

“Our mission is to strengthen the community by helping people live safe, healthy and productive lives. Our local nonprofits offer the best available programs, which help to improve situations for families today and strengthen the entire community for the future.”

Donations can be directed toward a specific nonprofit or placed in the community fund.
