Clallam: Countywide burn ban lifted

A burn ban in effect throughout Clallam County since August has been lifted, thanks to enough rain and the return of cool weather.

Jerry Hight, the county Department of Community Development’s fire marshal, made the announcement Monday.

The lifting of the ban came as the state Department of Natural Resources reduced the county’s fire danger to low and officially closed this year’s fire season, Hight said.
