PORT ANGELES — Beginning this year, efforts to collect unpaid fines and fees in Clallam County Superior Court and District Court 1 will be combined into one “pay or appear” program between the two courts.
The move will put the program under the administration of one person, and hopefully keep fewer people from falling through the cracks on their obligations, Superior Court Clerk Mollie Lingvall said.
Monthly hearings for the program will be held in District Court No. 1, though Superior Court will continue its pay or appear calendar through the end of January.
The calendar for Superior Court defendants on the pay or appear program will be held in District Court No. 1 beginning the first Friday in February.
