This past weekend, Port Angeles and Sequim went to the — well, crabs.
From people tossing crab pots into the water at City Pier to chefs stirring up Dungeness crab delights in Port Angeles and Sequim restaurants, the main attraction was the crustacean that gets its name from the Olympic Peninsula community north of Sequim.
Economically, the first Dungeness Crab and Seafood Festival was nothing short of a success, Port Angeles Chamber of Commerce Director Russ Veenema said.
“People were having a great time,” he said following the close of event festivities Sunday in Port Angeles.
