Clallam: Forum to celebrate religious freedom

PORT ANGELES — Fourteen Clallam County community leaders will speak out on religious freedom at a Multi-Cultural Alliance forum on Tuesday.

The free public event will last from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Little Theater at Peninsula College, 1502 E. Lauridsen Blvd.

The 14 participants each will read from contemporary and historical documents on religious liberty. The forum then will be open for anyone to respond to the readings or to state his or her own religious belief.

“We are hoping interested residents from across Clallam County will attend and benefit from what promises to be a lively, respectful and celebratory public discussion,”‘ said Dr. Gary Cohn, chairman of the Multi-Cultural Alliance.

Readers will be clergy and lay persons representing the county, its cities, its schools and its spiritual communities, including Buddhist, Baptist, Quaker and the Lower Elwha Klallam tribe.

For more information about the forum, contact the Kyle at 360-461-2849 or francisk@pcadmin.ctc.edu.
