PORT ANGELES — Cyndi J. Hueth has been named executive director of Habitat for Humanity of Clallam County by the organization’s board of directors.
Hueth served as the president/CEO of Pomona Valley Habitat for Humanity in La Verne, Calif., from 2002 to 2008.
Both she and her husband, Larry Hueth, CEO/president of First Federal, have been active volunteers with Habitat for Humanity of Clallam County since moving to the area at the end of 2008.
Said Anna Nichols, board president:
“As a very organized and dynamic person, we know that Cyndi is going to help make Habitat for Humanity of Clallam County much more visible and productive in our community.”
The new executive director said:
“While we are part of a global organization that has built or rehabilitated over 800,000 homes around the world in partnership with families in need of decent housing, the local impact of having now served 25 families in Clallam County is both significant and heartwarming.
“We have strategic goals to increase our yearly house builds in order to serve more families.
“What we need now are more committed volunteers to serve at the committee level with responsibilities for selecting and partnering with our families, finding land for future builds, and fund- and friend-raising.”
Habitat for Humanity of Clallam County is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian ministry dedicated to providing decent, affordable housing in partnership with low-income families throughout Clallam County.
Incorporated in 1991, the group has built 25 homes in Port Angeles, Sequim and Forks.
